The state of 3G in India


It’s almost a year since the mobile telephony standard, 3G or 3rd Generation services, was launched in selected cities in India by the two state-run telcos – Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) and Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited (MTNL). However, the popularity of 3G and the subscribers’ graph has not grown as well as expected. Both MTNL and BSNL are striving to overcome their dismal performance in this sector in spite of being the only players. Read more.
