PCWorld.com (IDG news service) is reporting that Chinese online sales siteTaobao.com run by Alibaba and similar to Western market’s eBay will be launching a co-branded mobile phone with Lenovo. It will purportedly include its own Taobao app to encourage online sales through the mobile product itself. No juicy details as yet about what OS or features the phone will have but my initial feeling is they might just go with an Android fork and sell apps too. Read more.
